infrastructure infrastructure, the streets of NYC going the way of Wall Street, infrastructures collapsing because of tsunami of development?

Mayor King Bloomberg and socialite mega millionaire city planner Amanda Burden pushed this tsunami of community crushing development on old New York's infrastructure....around the corner from this Con Ed emergency vehicle was a medium sized water main break. A year after the repair there was a hole in the paved street. I have a photo of a garbage can in the hole.

The workers above are around the corner from this water main break covered by New York 1 and this of course is right by the supersizing of Cooper Union's studio and the Cooper Square Hotel that looks like a spaceship landed on the Bowery.

When we have infrastructure breaks it hits New Yorkers hard directly or indirectly -- sooner or later indirectly it always gets done to taxes but the worst case scenario is dieing or being injured or being forced to move your home or small business.

West Village a water main break -- pipe was from BEFORE the Civil War which is a testament to the men that built our infrastructure, sadly we have lost lives in this tsunami of community crushing development and finally we had the mayor chanting what we had been yelling at him "Safey First!!!".

I think of Jodi Lane walking her dogs and died here in the East Village. Don't walk your dogs over man hole covers, don't park your cars over them, I saw a mercedes cooked like a marshmellow on the south east corner of Tompkins Square Park. If you see a community member and their dog getting shocked by a manhole cover -- do not touch them directly...you need something to protect you from the electric jolt...rubber, even wood I think.

Just be alert dear New Yorkers and visitors because I have concerns for our safety and it infrastructure -- from Wall Street to NYC's streets, above and below the streets and in the subways as well.

This is NYC though and the city is a testament to the most diverse passionate enduring people.
I love New York!!!

When I walked by around 7PM there were even more red emergency vehicles...
